FAQ

WHAT SETS THIS PAGEANT APART FROM OTHER LITTLE GIRL PAGEANTS?
After many years of involvement in pageants we have seen the value that these experiences can provide for young girls, teenagers and women.  We want to encourage girls to try pageants as a way to help build their self-confidence and to learn about beauty, poise and grace.  Our pageant has an interview competition which helps promote healthy self-expression.  We also want to encourage all of the girls to become more involved in community service. Each of our pageants offer mini classes in the areas of self-confidence, poise and interview.  These will help prepare your daughter for the pageant as well as other areas in her life.

WHAT TYPES OF PRIZES ARE GIVEN?  Mini Miss Pageants wants to help our young girls start saving for college and is proud to offer a $100 savings bond to our Grand Supreme Queen.  We also awards sashes, crowns, trophies and other various awards.  Each contestant will receive a sash the night of the pageant regardless of placement.

MY DAUGHTER IS TOO YOUNG TO SIT THROUGH CLASSES.  DOES SHE HAVE TO ATTEND?  While we believe that the classes are very important and something that we want to offer to all of the contestants, we also realize the large age span that will be represented.  You know your child best and if you feel a nap is more important than a mini class - - by all means!!!  Take the nap!  Classes are strongly recommended for Divisions, III, IV, IV.

HOW MUCH IS THE ENTRY FEE?  The entry fee is $130.00 and includes the main areas of competition, mini classes, t-shirt and princess gift bag.

DO YOU OFFER ANY DISCOUNTS?  Mini Miss Pageants always offers a sibling discount.  After a full paid registration, we offer a $15 discount on each sibling application.  You will also get a $5.00 referral discount for each contestant that registers with your name listed on the top of their application.

HOW CAN I PAY MY FEES?  You may include a check with your application fee, or pay through PayPal.  If you choose PayPal, please include an additional $5.00 or 4%, whichever is greater.  PayPal account email address is interviewmecd@gmail.com.  Make sure you indicate what the money is for and the name or names of the contestants.

CAN I GET SPONSORS TO HELP PAY FOR THE ENTRY FEE?  Yes!  Asking for sponsors is a great way to help cover expenses.  In fact, if you get more than what is needed for the entry fee you can apply the rest towards additional pageant related expenses.

WILL I BE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE TO HELP MY DAUGHTER BEFORE AND DURING THE PAGEANT?  Yes!  Each contestant will be allowed ONE person to help them.  When you arrive a the pageant you will be given a "backstage pass" that you will need to show to be able to get into the changing room.

WHAT CAN MY DAUGHTER EXPECT IN THE INTERVIEW?  Each age division will run a little differently.  Contestants age 4 - 7 will be asked two questions from each judge.  Contestants age 8 -11 will meet with each judge for 3 minutes.  Contestants age 12 - 15 will meet with each of the judges for a 4 minute interview.  The questions asked by the judges will be simple.  They might ask them about their family, favorite hobbies, pets etc.  Most questions will be taken directly from the contestants application.  It is important to remember that the judges are just trying to get to know the girls and to see how well they can communicate.  Check the Sponsor page for more options in interview preparation.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT AGE CATEGORIES?  Ages for Mini Miss Pageants run anywhere from 0 - 12 years.  You can see a specific breakdown by clicking on one of the pageant pages.  If there is only one girl in a certain division, she will be moved up to compete in the next division .

CAN A CONTESTANT WIN MORE THAN ONE AWARD?  Yes and No!  A contestant can win as many optional categories as the judges see fit to award her!  For the overall competitions, she can only win once.  For example, if she scored the most points out of every contestant in every age group she would win the overall title of Grand Supreme Queen.  She would not be eligible to win the division awards as well.  This gives more girls an opportunity to win awards.

IF MY DAUGHTER WINS, WILL SHE MAKE ANY APPEARANCES?  This is completely up to you!  Mini Miss Pageants does not schedule any appearances for you, but if this is something that you would like to do then go for it!  Parades, charity events, grand openings, etc are perfect places for your daughter to make an appearance.

WHAT SHOULD MY DAUGHTER WEAR IN THE FUN FASHION COMPETITION?  Each contestant can choose an outfit of their choice that represents them and their personality as well as the theme of the pageant.  You are welcome to go as simple or as extravagant as you would like!  We do not allow swimsuits of any kind in this pageant system.

IS MAKE UP ALLOWED?  This pageant is not like those that you see on television!  While make up is allowed, we ask that you make it somewhat age appropriate.   You are welcome to make all decisions regarding your daughters hair, make-up and wardrobe.

WHAT TYPE OF GOWN IS APPROPRIATE FOR FORMAL WEAR?  Again, this decision will be left up to you.  Each contestant will be asked to model a gown of their choice (either short or long)  You can choose a formal pageant gown or a fancy church dress.  The decision is yours.  Your daughter will not be judged on the expense of her gown but rather how she carries herself in it.  Be sure to check our sponsor page for gown options.

WILL THERE BE A DRESS REHEARSAL?  There will not be any type of formal dress rehearsal, but each girl will get an opportunity to walk on the stage to get a feel for it.   This will happen either before or after her interview depending on what contestant number she is.

WHAT IS APPROPRIATE TO WEAR IN INTERVIEW?  Each girl should wear an outfit that they would wear to church.  A nice pant suit, dress or suit.  Make sure it is something that they feel comfortable wearing.

WHY IS THERE A CATEGORY OF COMMUNITY SERVICE?  Mini Miss Pageants firmly believes that teaching young girls to serve others is so important.  We encourage all of the contestants to find some type of service project that they can do to give back to their community.  Each girl that competes in that area will receive a certificate of recognition for their efforts.  To be considered for the award, all Community Service Project applications are due one week prior to the pageant.

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS TO WATCH THE PAGEANT?  The entry fee includes one ticket for a parent or chaperone to watch the pageant as well as be backstage to help the contestant.  All other tickets are $3.00 if purchased in advance or $5.00 at the door.
